Mark Crist, Chief Delivery Officer
Mark Crist Co-Founded Regents Consulting Group at the behest of long-time colleagues, Nick McCune and Rick Morgan. “I have been fortunate to have linked up with some of the most amazing technical and business savvy individuals on the market,” Mark says. He continues, “We met in 2001 and have striven to work together ever since. It’s a great synergy and I’m constantly amazed that I have the privilege to work with the folks that make up Regents Consulting.”
Mark’s “first” career was a dual track of Human Resources and Information Systems at The Stroh Brewery Company in Detroit, Michigan. Starting as a Programmer/Analyst following the acquisition of the Jos. Schlitz and Schaeffer brewing companies by Stroh in 1981-82, Mark quickly grew through the ranks to the positions of Vice President, Human Resources and Vice President, Information Systems and Services, respectively. With the buyout of the Stroh business in 1999-2000, Mark moved on to his next career within the Staffing Industry.
In 2000, Mark became VP, Information Systems at Staffmark in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Staffmark had recently finished a period of accelerated acquisition – 70 companies in 3 years – and was restructuring to promote organic growth of the organization. “I know it was my extensive HR and IT experience that made me a great fit at Staffmark. Staffing organizations all need to have a necessary “bent” towards all facets of Human Resources as that is their sole product – Human Capital.”
In the early 2000’s, consolidations continued and Staffmark was not immune. Located a short distance from its parent headquarters, Staffmark’s corporate offices were consolidated with its parent organization. As part of that move, Mark was asked to remain and steer the organization through the replacement of its aging legacy systems to the newly released PeopleSoft Staffing Solution. It was during the course of this project that Mark met and worked alongside many of the core team of individuals that make up Regents Consulting.
After a brief hiatus as the head of HR for the US Operations of Roquette Frere, Mark joined Crestone International in 2004 to begin his consulting career. With the birth of Newbury Consulting Group, Mark was asked to and joined in 2006. Focusing on project management and delivery, Mark led several large project implementations and upgrades. In addition to direct project management, he has also functioned as the head of implementation services overseeing pre-sales implementation strategy, coordinating new project and team startup, and providing on-going project team guidance at multiple clients. In 2011, Regents was born…
Mark is a graduate of the University of Toledo Honors College. He resides in the middle of nowhere in south central Iowa on his horse farm and likes it that way.
